The Do’s and Don’ts of Finding a Bed in Utah
You toss and turn all night, getting up in the morning to feel more tired than you did before. Your current mattress has more hills and valleys than a topographic map of Utah, and you’re seriously considering sleeping on the sofa—or worse, spending the night in your mother-in-law’s guest room with the creepy porcelain dolls. Yikes. It’s time for you to buy a new bed, my friend, and we’ve got some advice for you.
Do: Research online.
Before you head to the stores, it’s a good idea to do a little online research ahead of time, especially if you haven’t purchased a mattress in a while. Mattress brands are always coming out with new styles, and some of them are getting pretty high-tech. Decide which special features, if any, are important to you and then start to compare prices to get an idea of how much you’ll be spending.
Don’t: “Research” on Facebook.
You were about to do that, weren’t you? A status that reads: “Anybody have an extra mattress I can borrow?” will either A) annoy half of your friends, or B) get you strange offers. Just don’t do it.
Do: Decide on a firmness level.
First off, you need to know what kind of sleeper you are. If you’re a side sleeper, you’ll want something with pressure relief like memory foam. Stomach sleepers might prefer a cool and firm mattress while back sleepers will want something in the middle.
Don’t: Sleep in a hammock.
You’re not a sloth.
Do: Test out mattresses.
Here at Mattress Dealzz, we even suggest you bring your own pillow so you can rest a while. You’ll want to lay down for at least 10 minutes to get a good feel for the mattress’ comfort level. Every person is different, and a bed that works for others won’t work for you. Some mattress brands even allow for take-home trial periods or money-back guarantees.
Don’t: Test out other people’s mattresses.
Sneaking into your neighbor’s bed in the middle of the night might give them the wrong idea. Especially if they find you standing over them holding your own pillow. To not give the impression that you’re a serial killer, maybe just come in to any Utah Mattress Dealzz.
Do: Shop at a store that specializes in mattresses.
While most furniture stores will have a mattress section, it’s best to go to a store that specializes exclusively in mattresses. You’ll find more knowledgeable sales associates and a wider selection of beds. At our five Mattress Dealzz locations you’ll find that we’re Utah’s mattress experts with a huge selection of quality products—from economy to luxury, including innerspring mattresses, premium memory foam, and latex. Our inventory is always ready for immediate delivery or pickup and you’ll find we offer the best customer service.
Don’t: Shop at a store that isn’t Mattress Dealzz.
With locations in Orem, Pleasant Grove, Murray, South Jordan, and South Salt Lake, there’s really no reason not to shop with us. And don’t even think of going to a second hand store...
